Mommie Dearest (1981)

Wow Joan Crawford is one scary bitch. I usually hate these sappy Hollywood movies but this one is always good as long as you're not watching it the way it was meant to be watched. Yeah I do understand that its disturbing and some scenes can get some people emotional but I choose to watch it for a laugh. The whole concept is rather funny. Faye Dunaway trashing Joan Crawford's name for ever. Not to mention that it is comical watching Faye run around with powder on her face and destroy closets, or go nuts and have a shit fit in the garden, or beat her daughter with "wire hangers". I think the only thing that could have made this film better would be if Joan were alive when it came out. Now that would be interesting wouldn't it be. Maybe if you were lucky enough to see it in the theater at the same time she did. Now that would be fun. This movie is considered a drama but I feel that it appeals to horror and trash cinema fans as well. Basically everybody needs to see Mommie Dearest at least once.
